100% CPU Usage by W3WP.EXE

We have several ASP.Net applications hosted on IIS 6 on production(MS Windows Server 2003 R2,Intel Xeon 2.33 GHz,4GB RAM). One of the applications is causing issues and affecting the performance of all the others hosted by using up 100% CPU at least once in a day. The only way to stop this currently is to restart the application pool which contains this problematic application.

·         This is a .Net 2.0 application and Devex controls are extensively used throughout the application.
·         This is the only application in the app pool and that’s how we narrowed down the issue as the worker process tied to this pool was using up all the CPU.
·         We checked for infinite loops but couldn’t find any.
·         We used DebugDiag to monitor performance but it wasn’t of much help.
·         Are there any cons of setting ‘debug=false’ on the web.config? . We didn’t find much of reduction in the utilization on UAT when debug was set to false.

If you have faced such issue before or know anything about it, Can you please suggest something to diagnose the problem area and provide a solution for this issue?
