Need help: VB6 connection stirng does not work in windows 2003 server

We have a legacy application written in VB6 which we are trying to migrate to windows 2003 ( server) boxes. During this exercise our connection string is failing as MDAC version where we have complied the code ( windows XP,SP3) is different from what we have in window 2003 server.

The code works fine in windows7,SP1 with some modification  and works on 2008 R2 as well.

Anybody has any suggestion on this? This issue has completely stopped all our further work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

REPLY 1:

Please provide some more details. Like which DB (SQL / Oracle / Access) and DB version are you using on Windows Server 2003 Server. Whats the SP of Windows 2003 Server (chk if you have latest sp on this box)? Can you please also share the connection string, putting in dummy server name and credentials?
